Warangal: The bandh call given by the BJP, Viswa Hindu Parishad, Bajrang Dal and others was partial here on Monday. It may be noted here that several organisations including Brahmin Seva Samithi called for a bandh and peace rally protesting the attack against Shiva Sai temple priest D Satyanarayana by Masjid Syed Sadiq Hussain of Warangal.

However, the Warangal police, who organised a meeting with the religious heads on Sunday, were able to appease the Brahmin Seva Samithi from enforcing bandh on Monday. In spite of this, the activists of BJP, VHP and Bajrang Dal tried to enforce the bandh. However, the police arrested and shifted the protestors to Hanamkonda, Subedari, KUC, Matwada, Intezargunj and Mills colony police stations.

Among those arrested were BJP State organising committee member Rao Amarender Reddy, Gandrathi Yadagiri, P Rajendra Prasad, J Madhu, A Rajamouli, Kolanu Santhosh Reddy and several others. They demanded the police to stringent action against the accused.

Meanwhile, the priest Satyanarayana, who is undergoing treatment at the MGM hospital, is said to be recovering. Several leaders from the BJP and leaders from Students Islamic Organisation (SIO) visited him at the hospital.
