Thuraka Kasas exhorted to fight for their rights
Uppal: Speakers from various political parties at a public meeting here on Monday advised the Thuraka Kasa community, which ekes out living by breaking stones and supplying them for construction work, to fight for their rights. The community demanded setting up of a finance corporation for its benefit.
Addressing in a meeting organised by the Thuraka Kasa Welfare Association, the speakers expressed distress over the lack of housing facilities and job opportunities for the community because of development of latest science and technology and mechanisation.
They wanted the party coming to power after the ensuing elections to provide incentives to Thuraka Kasas. Association president SK Imam Pasha chaired the meeting. Bahujan Left Front State convener Majibulla Khan, CPI(M) State committee member D G Narsimha Rao, Telangana TDP chief L Ramana, CPI State executive member N Balamallesh, TRS leader Jahangir, MBC Association State general secretary Pailla Ashayya, honorary president of the association Md Abbas, Awaz State president Prof. Hamid Ansari participated in the meeting.
Ramana, while calling for the defeat of TRS party in the elections, pledged to set up a finance corporation if the ‘Maha Kutami’ was voted to power. Mujibulla Khan demanded a CBI inquiry into the Wakf land scam.
