Collector reviews steps to implement code of conduct

Khammam: Implement the model code of conduct strictly in the district, ordered District Collector RV Karnan while chairing meeting with officials of flying squad, static surveillance teams and nodal officers at Technical Training and Development Centre in Khammam on Tuesday.

Karnan gave certain suggestions to the concern officials for smooth conduct of elections in a peaceful atmosphere and perfect implementation of the model code of conduct in the district.

The Collector asked officials to study the guidelines issued by the Election Commission of India and think what kind of actions can be taken against the persons who violate the model code of conduct without creating any inconvenience to the people.

He ordered the concern inspection teams to conduct survey now and then in the respective constituencies that are allotted to them consulting the returning officers of those constituencies in addition to utilising the ‘c-Vigil mobile app’ without fail.

SP Tafseer Iqbal, District Joint Collector Ayesha Masrath Khanam, Sub-Collector Anurag Jayant, Assistant Collector Hanumanthu Kodimba, returning officers, ACPs, MCC and SST Teams were present in the meeting.
