Women’s self-defence prowess to the fore

​LB Nagar: The Vidyarthi Seva Samithi in association with ABVP organised ‘Mission Sahasi’ at Saroor Nagar stadium on Tuesday. As many as 5,000 girl students from various states displayed self-defence techniques at the event. ABVP All India girls in-charge Mamatha Yadav, movie actress Madhavilatha, BJP leader Perala Sekhar Rao, RK Puram corporator Radha Dheeraj Reddy, Prof Ramakrishna Reddy, ABVP secretary L Ayyappa were present. 

The organisers claimed the event as a software demonstration instead of hardware and that it would teach the women how to face unwarranted situations in the life. They said that physical and mental fitness were important for every girl and women. Apart from Mahabubnagar, Nalgonda, Rangareddy and Hyderabad, college students of Kolkata, Chennai, Delhi and Mumbai exhibited their self-defense skills in the event.
