Congress workers must take inspiration from Indira: DCC president
Khammam: The district Congress leaders and workers leaders paid tribute to the former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi on her 34th death anniversary Wednesday.
The Khammam Assembly constituency in-charge of Congress Sandhya Reddy along with other party leaders paid rich tributes by garlanding the portrait of Indira Gandhi at Sanjeeva Reddy Bhavan in the city.
Speaking on the occasion, Sandhya said that Indira Gandhi was the first women who rendered her services to the nation as a Prime Minister for a long time.
Indira Gandhi is considered as the Iron lady of the country because of her vision and initiatives taken for the development of the nation. She was also responsible for the liberation of Bangladesh. With slogan like Garib Hatao and nationalsation of banks along with taking initiation for construction of major projects in the country, she proved herself as the best Prime Minister of India.
All the leaders of the Congress party must strive for strengthening the Congress party from village level deriving inspiration from Indira Gandhi and supporting all the candidates, the Mahakutami is going to field in ensuing Assembly elections to give it a bumper majority, she urged.
