Hyderabad: With uncertainty hovering over his ticket, TRS leader G Vinod Kumar is said to have made up his mind to join Congress party any time.

According to sources, the former minister expected ticket for Chennur Assembly seat. However, the party had announced Peddapally MP Balka Suman as the candidate. Sources close to Vinod said that he already had initiated steps to join Congress party. He is presently in New Delhi and is said to be in touch with the Congress leaders. He is likely to join the Congress anytime.

The ruling TRS has also tried to retain Vinod with help of his brother G Vivekanand. However, he was not convinced and is learnt to have decided to leave the party. If Vinod joins Congress, he is likely to be given ticket from Chennur, said sources.

In a recent meeting with his followers, Vinod reportedly said that the party had cheated him by not giving Chennur seat even after explaining the ground report.

Earlier, when he approached Minister K T Rama Rao, the latter told them that Suman was given ticket to accommodate his brother Vivek in Peddapally Lok Sabha constituency.
