Weavers' welfare our top priority: KTR
Hyderabad: Addressing a huge gathering at the "Krutajnatha Sabha" in Sircilla, Minister KT Rama Rao spoke about the various schemes and programs introduced by TRS government for the welfare of the weavers.
Minister remarked that the weavers in the state were deprived of development by the past governments. But it was TRS government which cared for them. “Similar to Rythu Bheema program, I will make sure an insurance scheme is introduced for the weavers of Telangana,” he said.
Appreciating the creativity in the weavers, Minister Rama Rao said, “We should address you as Cheneta Kalakarulu rather than Cheneta karmikulu.”
Minister mentioned that while smaller countries like China and Bangladesh are manufacturing 40 percent and 14 percent cloth in the world, India is managing to produce only 4 percent.
He added that CM KCR always strived for the betterment of weavers in the state. Highlighting innovative programs for weavers, he said, “In order to ensure that the benefits of government schemes reach genuine weavers, the TRS government has introduced geo-tagging for all power looms in Sircilla.”
Later in the meeting, he ridiculed the Congress and TDP alliance. “Chandrababu Naidu backstabbed NTR for the second time by joining hands with Congress,” he said.
KTR reiterated that if Congress - TDP alliance comes to power in Telangana, the irrigation projects will come to a halt and the state will go back into dark days.
Minister sought the support of the people of Sircilla and said, “I will never forget the love and affection which people of Sircilla have showered on me.” “Please bless us once again in the coming elections,” he appealed.
