KCR, KTR will meet the same fate as of Saddam's family: Gudur

Update: 2018-11-04 01:13 IST

Hyderabad: Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) Treasurer Gudur Narayana Reddy said that caretaker Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao and his son KTR would meet the same fate as of former dictator of Iraq Saddam Hussain and his son Uday.

Addressing a press conference at Gandhi Bhavan on Saturday, Gudur Narayana Reddy said that just like KTR who is claiming that KCR cannot be defeated, Uday used to claim that his father Saddam Hussain was invincible. Since people reject all dictatorial regimes one day, KCR's rule would face ultimate rejection on December 7, he said.

Gudur Narayana Reddy said that the TRS leaders have turned restless ever since Congress and TDP joined hands to end the dictatorial rule of KCR family in Telangana State. He said the fear of a humiliating defeat has increased the frustration of KTR to the limit that he started talking in an insane manner about the Grand Alliance. He said the behaviour of TRS leaders, especially KTR, was a clear indication that the Congress-led alliance was all set to form the next Government.

Condemning KTR's criticism on Congress party's alliance with the TDP, he asked whether or not TRS allied with the Congress party in 2004 and with TDP in 2009 elections. He asked if TRS alliance with TDP in 2009 was justified, then what makes TDP an anti-Telangana party in 2018. He said that the Grand Alliance of Congress, TDP, TJS and CPI has been formed to defeat the dictatorial regimes of KCR in State and Prime Minister Narender Modi at the Centre. Although the four parties have different political ideologies, they are one in ending the anti-people governments of TRS and BJP.

Ridiculing the hype being created by KTR over receiving the invite from the World Economic Forum, Gudur Narayana Reddy pointed out that the WEF was not a government body but just a private organisation which sells its invites for a cost. He said invitations for those conferences are sold on payment of fee up to Rs. 1.5 crore.

Meanwhile, in an informal chat, the Congress leader shared the findings of a latest survey which claimed that the Grand Alliance would get 49% vote share in next elections with TRS lagging behind with just 31%. He also informed that the list of candidates for all 119 seats would be announced by the Grand Alliance on November 9. He said Congress leaders who are being denied ticket to accommodate the other allies would be given prominence in nominated posts in the next government. He said a special counselling team has been constituted to pacify the leaders who might get upset over denial of tickets.
