Resolve all grievances quickly, poll staff told
Hyderabad: GHMC commissioner Dana Kishore, who is also District Election Officer (DEO), on Friday instructed returning officers to resolve election complaints including those received from C-Vigil as soon as they are received and submit reports to district election officer. He was speaking in a meeting with Hyderabad returning officers on conduct of elections here on Friday. Speaking on the occasion, he said that election complaints should be examined immediately and addressed as soon as possible.
He ordered returning officers to file cases against those who violate model code of conduct. As the spotlight is on the way elections are conducted in Hyderabad, he warned that every minor incident may be blown up as major one. He asked them to check if names of all the prominent political leaders are present in voter list. He also called for more efforts to increase the voting percentage in the city. He advised the officers to conduct awareness sessions to booth level agents on the use of EVMs and VVPATs and increasing voting percentage.
The GHMC Commissioner, along with other GHMC officials, inspected EVMs distribution and reception centers (DRC) on Friday. He visited Kotla Vijayabhaskar Reddy Stadium and inspected proposed distribution, reception centers and strong rooms of Khairatabad and Jubilee Hills. He discussed about security and other basic amenities to be made for these facilities with city police joint commissioner Srinivas and Khairatabad zonal commissioner Musharaf Ali.
Later he visited Mufakanja college and reviewed the proposed DRC and strong rooms for Goshamahal constituency. It was decided to arrange for another center as it may disturb classes.
