TSRTC should retain cargo transportation

Hyderabad: The Telangana State Road Transport Corporation Staff Workers Federation (TSRTCSWF) on Friday demanded that the corporation cancel the agreement on the transportation of its cargo by private parties and instead use in-house personnel.  

Ch Ramchander, president, TSRTCSWF, said, “In the past, the corporation got Rs 1 crore revenue per year when the transportation of cargo was in-house and now the revenue has dipped to Rs 50 lakh.”  The general secretary of TSRTCSWF, V S Rao, opined that there are corporation depots in every city, an inherent advantage that the corporation enjoys and there is no need to depend on private parties.
