Janagaon: Former TPCC President Ponnala Laxmaiah said that TRS chief K Chandrashekar Rao, who often talked about the necessity of double bedroom houses for poor terming it as mark of self-respect, has conveniently forgotten his promise.

Addressing party cadre at a meeting at Narmetta mandal headquarters on Sunday, he said the TRS government, which vowed to change the fate of farmers, had in fact achieved the distinction of handcuffing the cultivators. He was referring to Khammam incident where farmers were handcuffed.

Forget about remunerative price, the TRS government even failed to provide minimum support price. As a result, the number of farmers committing suicide increased twofold in the State, he said.

“KCR, who promised to provide a job each to every household did not even talk about it today. KCR also failed to pay the fee reimbursement to the students,” Laxmaiah said.

He said KCR has no moral right to seek vote from people. How can the TRS chief who often used to say that he would not seek vote if he failed to provide drinking water to all the households in the State through Mission Bhagiratha was going to the elections without fulfilling his promise, he said.

The Congress is committed to waive the crop loans of farmers up to Rs 2 lakh at one go, he said. Janagaon witnessed no development in the regime of TRS, Laxmaiah said, assuring the region’s farmers of providing full-fledged irrigation facility if the Congress was voted to power.
