Union Bank staff seek regularisation

Musheerabad: Leaders of temporary employees of Union Bank association demanded the regularisation of services. They were speaking at a meeting organised by All India Union Bank Federation at Sundaraiah Vignan Kendram on Sunday. Speaking on the occasion, leaders of the association demanded bank to regularise the services of 8,000 temporary workers who are working in 4,300 bank branches and pay minimum wage Rs 18,000 on eve of the bank completing 100 years on October 11. 

Stating that bank cannot recruit temporary employees as per the Labour Act, they said that bank has been violating the Act by recruiting temporary employees and needs to be rectified. Most of the temporary employees have been working for last ten years and their problems needs to be resolved, they said. Among those participated in the meeting include Bank employees federation of India Telangana state president MV Madhav Rao, working president Subash, secretary P Srinivas, R Venkatramaiah, Ajay Kumar and hundreds of employees of the bank.
