Centenary Urs of Barelvi founder observed

Nampally: Commemorating the centenary of Urs of Imam Ahmed Raza Khan, the founder of the Barelvi movement, a conference was organised by Tahreek e Islami at Sunni Markaz, Masjid-e-Gulbano in Nampally. Maulana Muhammad Farooq Khan Razvi (Munazire Ahle Sunnat) of Nagpur and (Khalifa E Huzoor Tajush Shariah) Mufti Kamaal Akhtar of Faizabad, Uttar Pradesh, delivered a speech on Imam Ahmed Raza Khan’s contributions to Hanafi Islamic school of thought and his works relevant to different aspects of Islam.

Razvi explained the importance of Kanzul Iman (Treasure of Faith), an Urdu paraphrase referring to the translation of the Quran by Ahmad Raza Khan produced in 1911. The work is considered to be one of the authentic translations of the Quran in Urdu, by Imam Ahmed Raza Khan, who is revered in the Indian sub-continent.

Razvi launched biography of the saint titled, ‘Imam Ahmad Raza Hayat o Khidmaat’, authored by Mufti Mohammed Asif Bilal Quadri Barkati, President of Tehreek-E-Islami. Maulana Mujahid Ali Naqshbandi and Dr Syed Muhammad Husaini Peer Quadri Sajadah Nasheen Taher Gulshan of Kurnool were present on the occasion.
