Nine cops issued memos for taking bribe in Suraypet
Suryapet: District SP R Venkateshwarlu reportedly issued memos to nine police personnel including a head constable of Suraypet Rural police station on graft charges.
According to sources, these nine police officials had taken money as a bribe during the vehicle checking in their police station limits. Expressing concern over the police dishonesty and misuse of power, the SP sent a video showing the evidences of collecting money illegally from the vehicle owners in the name of absence of valid papers.
Based on the video complaint, the SP ordered a departmental inquiry on respective corrupt police officials. The SP reportedly issued memos to the police officials facing graft charges and attached them to SP office for future course of action.
Meanwhile, the police under the supervision of Suryapet DSP Nageshwar Rao carried out cordon and search operations near MRO office in Suryapet. The police seized 10 bikes as the owners failed to produce valid papers. As many as 100 policemen of various designations took part in the search operations.
