TRS faces no challenge as Opposition nowhere on scene
Kothagudem: It is almost 60 days since TRS president and Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao had announced dissolution of the State Assembly and released the party candidates for the Assembly elections throwing the gauntlet to the Opposition parties.
The Opposition parties, who were apparently caught unawares, are still busy in solving their internal differences and finalising the name of the candidates to be fielded against the TRS nominees. This, of course, gave advantage to the ruling party whose candidates are going full throttle facing no opposition during their campaign trail, mainly in Kothagudem.
In villages of the district, only TRS banners and flags are seen as the Opposition party probable are confused whether they would get the ticket or not. Therefore, as the It Minister KT Rama Rao said that there is no opponent on the field(Maidan Khali hai), the pink party candidate are seeing no competition during the campaign trail and are confident of victory.
In the Bhadrachalam, the CPM and BJP candidates are campaigning against the TRS. In Pinapaka Assembly segment, the Congress party candidate is carrying out campaigning but he is not sure he would get the ticket.
But in the district headquarters, the strong opposition parties –the TDP and Congress formed Mahakutami, are nowhere on the scene. This very fact is giving TRS candidates the confidence that they would win the seats easily in absence of any formidable opposition in the district.
