LIC conducts drive against corruption
As part of Vigilance Awareness Week, the vigilance department of the south central zone of LIC Hyderabad conducted elocution and essay writing competitions in various schools and colleges for the students in twin cities during the week. Around 160 students, who qualified in various competitions from 36 schools and colleges, were felicitated and honoured at a seminar. T C Suseel Kumar, zonal manager, LIC, south central zone administered integrity pledge to all the participants.
SVenkateswarlu, Chief Vigilance Officer from Mumbai, informed the young minds about the various avenues available to lodge complaints on corruption. The Union government has authorised Central Vigilance Commission as a designated agency to receive written complaints on any allegation of corruption or misuse of office and to recommend appropriate action under Public Interest Disclosure and Protection of Informer (PIDPI) policy, he added.
He also said details of the complainant would be kept secret as per the said policy. He told that LIC too had its Whistle Blower Policy where it was safe for all employees to raise complaints about any unacceptable practice/conduct. He stressed the need for everybody to be vigilant and to rededicate for creation of corruption-free society.
