Adulterated toddy seized
Warangal: The Task Force Police on Thursday arrested three persons and seized 600 litres of adulterated toddy from them. On a tip-off, the police who raided a wholesale kallu (toddy) depot at Laxmipuram in the city had found adulterated toddy.
According to Task Force Inspector Nandiram Naik, the toddy depot is being run by Satyanarayana of Ramagundam who had taken it on a lease from license holder C Sarangapani.
To make easy money, Satyanarayana resorted to prepare toddy through some crude method which is hazardous to consumers’ health. The police arrested Srinivas, Yugandhar and Vikram, and seized huge stocks of ingredients used in illicit brewing from them. It is learnt that the adulterated toddy is being supplied to outlets spread across Warangal city and some parts of Khammam district.
Commissioner of Police V Ravinder commended Nandiram Naik, Excise SI Janardhan, Intezargunj SI Veerender, head constable Shyamsundar and constable Mahender who took part in the raid.
