BJP urged to field Shia candidate in Charminar

Update: 2018-11-10 05:30 IST

Charminar: The Spokesperson at BJP Minority Morcha, Mir Firasath Ali Baqri, has given a representation to Prime Minister Narender Modi, BJP National President Amit Shah, and Muqthar Abbas Naqvi, the Union Minister for Minority Affairs, urging them for allocation of ticket for Charminar Assembly constituency in Hyderabad.

He submitted a few facts for early consideration: “I am a young ‘Karyakarta’ and have been an active worker of BJP since 2003, and I reside in the Charminar constituency. I belong to the Shia Community, and I have a good reputation and hold a high goodwill not only among the Shia community, but also in other communities.”

As a spokesperson of the BJP Minority Morcha, he said he had always been presenting BJP perspective of Muslims and had been exposing the divisive and anti-national activities of the All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM). “I have been doing these for the betterment of Muslim community and to remove them from the clutches of AIMIM.

However, presently after doing a micro analysis based on the ground-level political scenario at the Charminar Assembly area, and keeping in view the disenchantment among Shia voters against the declared AlMIM candidate, I sincerely suggest that a Shia candidate representing the BJP shall make an impact and a possible victory of the BJP candidate,” he pleaded in the letter.
