Nampally: Posing risk to the lives of passengers, an age-old private building close to Nampally railway station’s platform number 4 is on the verge of collapse. Located at the dead-end of Nampally Railway station and opposite Ek Minar Masjid’s petrol pump, the structure remains completely dilapidated.  One of the oldest structures of the area, this deserted building remains unattended to by the authorities on the busiest place of the Nampally area. Due to the presence of railway station, thousands of commuters and pedestrians take this route.

“The roofs and walls of the building collapsed earlier, and a tree also grew inside the structure. The remaining building would collapse at any time and it is adjacent to platform. It is mostly likely that it may fall inside station, resulting injuries to passengers,” feels Kalavena Rajanarsu, Station Director, Hyderabad. Rajanarsu also said that the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) should take up dismantling work of all the old structures which are on the brink of collapse. He assured to take up the matter and would be submitting a written complaint to the civic authorities.
