Telangana farmers to be the richest: KCR

Hyderabad: Chief Minister and TRS president K Chandrashekar Rao on Wednesday kickstarted the fight for Telangana for a second term by filing his nomination papers at Gajwel, holding out a promise that his priority would be to develop Telangana in such a way that the farmers in the state would be the richest in the country. Chandrashekar Rao, before filing his nomination papers at RDO office in Gajwel, performed special puja at Sri Venkateshwara Swamy temple at Konaipally in Nangunuru mandal.

Addressing the villagers in a roadshow at Konaipalli, Chandrashekar Rao said that he was going to the battlefield with the blessings of the people of the village. “I swear in the name of Venkateshwara Swamy... I will develop agriculture in such a way that all of you would proud of your avocation.”

The TRS chief said that his party was going to win the election with a tally of 100 seats. He promised to wash the feet of Sri Venkateshwara Swamy Varu with water from Kaleshwaram project next year. He said that he was indebted to the people of Konaipally for the success of TRS. “I have not moved without taking the blessings of Sri Venkateshwara Swamy. I left Siddpet to contest from Gajwel but I have given the responsibility of development of the constituency to Harish Rao and he has been working exceptionally.   

Ensure Harish’s victory with one lakh margin,” said Rao. Earlier in the day, the Chief M inister reached the Konaipally village at around 11.30 am and took part in the special puja. Harish Rao and other TRS leaders were also present during the occasion. The TRS chief has sentiment for the temple as he visits the temple before taking up any work. The nomination process was simple as the TRS chief asked the party leaders not to come and wanted only a few people to accompany him in the nomination process.

Later, Minister T Harish Rao filed nomination papers for Siddipet at the RDO office. Before filing nomination papers, he took part in special prayers at Idgah and also in a Church in Siddipet. Addressing media-persons, Harish Rao said that he is filing nominations for the sixth time with the blessings of chief minister. “People of Siddipet have ensured victory with big margin during the last five elections and I have confidence that they will keep me number one in terms of majority in the state,” said Harish Rao.

Rao further said that he has been like a family member of every household in the constituency. He said that very soon there will be a train service to Siddipet and water supply from Kaleshwaram. He assured the voters that he would serve them more if they elect him once again from Siddipet.
