Nigha Vedika striving to ensure fair polls

Zaheerabad: The Sangareddy district convener of Telangana Nigha Vedika, G Prathap Kumar, said that the Vedika would strive to ensure peaceful and event-free conduct of elections in the district. He said that the organization has been working since 2009. It tried to prevent candidates with criminal cases from contesting elections. The organization would work to prevent the influence of money in the election process. The members of Vedika would monitor the elections and bring to notice violations if observed to the notice of election commission, he said. 

Co-convener of the organization, M Govardhan said that they were planning to bring all the candidates onto a single platform for election discussion. They would ensure that all the candidates take notice of the local issues and address them when they are voted. He advised people to cast their votes and not get lured by money and liquor.
