Kamareddy: "Don't attempt to snatch tribal owned lands or else face the dire consequences," warned Shabbir Ali, the Congress candidate for Kamareddy Assembly and Opposition leader of Telangana Legislative Council.

Shabbir launched extensive padayatra in Ratnagiripalle, Banjapalle, Somvarpet and Rajakaspet of Machareddy mandal on Monday. During the padayatra, he alleged that forest department officials have forcibly snatched away patta lands that were given during Congress regime.

Castigating caretaker Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao, he alleged that KCR, after becoming the CM, failed to stand by his promises by not distributing even one cent of land to Dalits and tribals.

Moreover, the lands distributed by the erstwhile Congress government were taken away, he alleged. “Till my last breath, I will not allow tribals to lose their lands by standing like a solid rock in support of downtrodden and weaker sections of the society," thundered Shabbir Ali.

The Opposition leader alleged that the forest department is fencing the tribal lands and foisting false cases against the tribals, who are lamenting for the torture meted out to them.

He appealed to the village electorate to cast vote for the Congress’ hand symbol and assured that the Congress immediately after coming to power will give all the needed protection to the aggrieved tribals and the downtrodden.

Senior Congress leaders Ponnala Lakshmareddy, Pampiri Srinivas, Adhikam Narsagoud, Ramesh Goud, Maddikunta Narsagoud and other activists accompanied the leader during his padayatra.
