Meet on Online Safety & Child Trafficking launched

Hyderabad: In view of World Day for Prevention of Child Abuse on Monday, Cyberabad Police conducted an awareness programme to create awareness among children. A session on “Online Safety and Child Trafficking” was held for Children from TSWEIRS, Narsingi and ZPHS, Gachibowli. 

Cyberabad CP V C Sajjanar inaugurated the programme and said that child abuse is serious issue and police is following zero tolerance towards complaints received on child abuse. The Women Protection Cell, created for the purpose of dealing with all crimes against women and children, were following up on the cases till their final disposal in the courts. Three smile teams had rescued 175 children from begging, rag picking, child labour, sexual abuse, and missing children. 

The CP urged to use smart phones with limited usage in a positive way without effecting personal life. She teams have conducted total 1,144 awareness programmes and 2,638 decoy operations since 2014 in which 3,26,320 people attended schools, colleges and hot spots. The CP launched two short films named Lift the burden and Watch out for Predators as part of social media awareness. Kits with stationary items and labels were distributed to the children in the programme.
