Police ensure security to voters in Agency
Bhadrachalam: Ensuring safety to voters and candidates, Warangal Range Inspector General of Police Y Nagi Reddy on Monday appealed to the people to cast their votes in the upcoming Assembly elections without any fear.
Speaking to the media persons, he gave the details about what precautionary measures are being taken in the sensitive villages of the Agency area in view of Maoists’ attacks in the neighbouring State of Chhattisgarh.
The IG said the police are giving full protection to the candidates during their campaigning programme in all villages. He also ensured that the police is alert to avoid any kind of untoward incident and ensure to protection to the people also so that they can cast their votes fearlessly on the polling day on December 7. He also said in his range limits as much as Rs 22.84 core was seized so far.
He said, the bind-over cases were also booked against 37,017 persons in the range limits. In all 300 weapons were deposited he said and 208 cases were booked for violation of the election code of conduct, IG explained. IG NagiReddy explained the details of the district of Kothagudem which was booked the cases in during the time of the election code.
In Kothagudem district 3,015 bind-over cases were booked in and around the district. As many as 18 cases of model code of conduct violation and Rs 30.05 lakh was seized across the district. District Superintendent of Police Sunil Dutt, OSD Uday Kumar Reddy, ASP Sangram Singh Patil and other officers attended the meeting.
