Uttam Kumar Reddy misleading people: Mahmood Ali

Update: 2018-11-21 05:30 IST

Mahbubnagar:  Countering TPCC Chief Uttam Kumar Reddy’s recent comments that it was not KCR but Sonia Gandhi had carved the new State of Telangana, Deputy Chief Minister Mahmood Ali said that Uttam is trying to mislead people by trying to turn and twist history, however, people of Telangana had never forgotten the 12-day hunger strike of KCR, after which the UPA-2 government lead by Sonia Gandhi was forced to announce the formation of the new State of Telangana.

“Uttam Kumar is trying to fool the people by twisting and turning the historic events. However, people know what has happened and how Telangana State came into being. Had not KCR gone for 12-day hunger strike, even today we could have seen the State of new Telangana of today,” said Ali while addressing a campaign rally at Alampur in Gadwal on Tuesday.

He said TDP was the first to oppose formation of Telangana as its chief Chandrababu Naidu changed his colours in just no time soon after the central government announced Telangana and instigated its leaders to go for hunger strike in Andhra. Because TDP and some leaders from Congress Telangana was delayed for 5 years  and because of double standards of Congress and TDP parties as many as 900 students committed suicides.

Earlier in Telangana we had only 2,000 students in Gurukula schools, but after TRS party came to power we have increased the number of Gurukual schools. Today as many as 50,000 students are studying in the residential schools.

Ali said earlier Congress and TDP governments could not even spent Rs 800 crore for minorities welfare. But the TRS government increased the funds for minorities to Rs 2000 crore.  Taking a jibe at Chandrababu,  Mahamood Ali recollected that it was the AP Chief Minister who had written 16 letters to the Central government and Krishna Water Board to stall Kaleshwaram and Palamuru Ranga Reddy Lift Irrigation projects.

He said KCR government is implementing welfare schemes by spending Rs 50,000 crore and providing 24-hour free power to the farming sector in addition to giving input capital of Rs 8,000 per acre.

Mahmood Ali termed the Mahakutami (grand alliance) formed by Congress, TDP, TJS and CPI as Kachara Kutami, as these parties themselves have no ethical base and common ideology.

Campaigning in support of Alampur TRS MLA candidate Abraham, the Deputy Chief Minister said that Abraham is the best candidate to give a tough fight for the standing MLA candidate Sampath Kumar of Congress from Alampur.

“Mahakutami will have no impact on TRS party as our party and its ideology is aimed at welfare and development of Telangana, while the Mahakutami which has formed just before elections clearly envisages that it is formed not on ideology or common principals but with a mere goal of grabbing power. In fact this Kutami is nothing better than a Kachara kutami,” said Mahamood Ali.

Mahmood Ali urged the people to vote for the TRS Party’s Car symbol and help TRS chief KCR to regain power for the second term and complete all the pending and new projects.
