Paramilitary forces conduct flag march

Khammam: Flag march was conducted here on Thursday for building confidence among the people to exercise their franchise in the forthcoming elections, according to Assistant Commissioner of Police, Venkatrao.

Under the leadership of the ACP, ITBP paramilitary forces along with local police personnel took part in the flag march at Ramanagutta here. Speaking on the occasion, Venkatrao said on the orders of Commissioner of Police Tafseer Iqbal, flag march was conducted.

Tight security measures were made to facilitate free and fair elections. Sensitive and trouble-prone areas would be identified, and measures would be taken in those areas, he said.

By conducting regular inspections, necessary actions would be taken along with filing bind-over cases against the persons who has criminal record. Three check posts are established in the city to keep check on illegal transport of money and liquor, he said.

The city police, he said, would remain alert round-the-clock and take all measures to ensure peace, he said. The ITBP officer Karthikeyan, Khammam Two town Circle Inspector Narendar and Sub-inspector Kishore were present.
