KCR conceded defeat, claims Uttam
Hyderabad: Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) president N Uttam Kumar Reddy on Thursday claimed that caretaker Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao conceded defeat even before polling for Telangana Assembly elections.
Referring to the video clip of the Chief Minister’s speech in Nirmal which went viral on social media wherein Chandrashekar Rao stated he would comfortably relax if the TRS loses elections, Uttam Kumar Reddy said that the statement was nothing but a confession that TRS was losing elections. “Till a few days ago, KCR and his son KT Rama Rao were making claims of winning 100 seats. But after the first round of campaigning, they realised that the TRS was losing the elections and it would be the People's Front which is forming next government in Telangana.
Therefore, now both KCR and KTR have started speaking about retirement and taking political 'sanyas'. As no dictatorial regime could survive in a democracy, people of Telangana have made up their minds to give the TRS a humiliating defeat on December 7,” Uttam Kumar Reddy said in a press release.
Uttam said that Chandrashekar Rao should start packing his bags to leave Pragathi Bhavan on December 11. “The victory of the Congress-led People's Front is certain. The alliance between the Congress, the TDP, the TJS and the CPI has received tremendous response across the Telangana State and people are desperately waiting for December 7 to throw dictatorial and arrogant regime of KCR family into oblivion,” he said.
Meanwhile, the TPCC chief accorded a warm welcome to Chevella MP Konda Vishweshwar Reddy who left the TRS. He said many more leaders from the TRS were likely to join the Congress party soon and added that anyone who genuinely loves Telangana would not sail with the TRS anymore.
“Next elections are between people of Telangana and KCR family. Therefore, everyone who is on people's side and democracy will support People's Front and only those who believe in slavery and dictatorship will back the TRS,” he said.
Uttam also informed that elaborate arrangements have been made for the visit of UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi to Telangana on Friday. This is the first visit of Sonia Gandhi after the formation of Telangana State.
