Election observers review preparations for elections
Mahbubnagar: Election observers, who have been appointed recently by the Election Commission of India for overseeing the election process in the district, took stock of various steps and measures taken by the district administration for the smooth and peaceful conduct of elections on 7th December in the district.
During a review meeting at the district Collectorate on Monday, the election observers along with District Collector Ronald and enquired with the district officials about the election preparedness.
Earlier, the ECI had appointed 3 member team as observers for analysing the poll expenditure and check if any violations by each contesting candidate from all the 5 constituencies of Mahabubnagar district.
Piyush Katiya, an Uttar Pradesh cadre IRS (C&CE) officer is being appointed to deliver his services as an election observer for Mahabubnagar 74 constituency, while Buddi Prakash IRS from Rajasthan (C&CE) cadre has been appointed to observe the election expenditure of candidates in Devarkadra 76 and 77-Makthal constituencies.
For Narayanpet constituency Yashu Sharma of Rajashthan cadre ICS officer has been appointed as election expenditure observer for 73-Narayanpet and 75-Jadcherla constituencies.
During the review meeting with the returning officials and assistant returning officials of all the 5 constituencies of Mahbubnagar district, Collector Ronald Rose directed them to immediately inform about any violation of model code of conduct by any party.
He also urged them to record the MCMC violations and asked them to inform to the election observers. The Collector asked the officials to record each and every election related costs and accordingly put it against their election expenditure.
