See the difference and vote: KCR
Warangal: Time has come for the people to equate the four-and-a-half-year rule of the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) with that of 58-year rule of the Congress and the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) and decide to whom they vote for, the TRS chief K Chandrashekar Rao said.
Addressing public meetings at Station Ghanpur, Parkal and Hanamkonda in the erstwhile Warangal district on Monday, KCR tried to drive home the point that the TRS government performed more than it promised contrary to the Opposition parties’ charges.
“N Kiran Kumar Reddy, the last Chief Minister of united Andhra Pradesh, used to say that Telangana would plunge into darkness if it was made a separate State. While Telangana is now self-sufficient in power, ironically it’s other way around in Kiran’s home State, AP,” KCR said.
He said that TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu, who claims credit for the development of Hyderabad, needs to explain why he had failed to ensure adequate power supply in the State during his regime.
There is a huge scope for development in Warangal and to make it happen, we need dedicated people’s representatives, TRS chief said in Warangal public meeting, appealing to people not to entertain parties that have no credentials to show. Warangal has a special place in the State, he added.
Even after achieving separate Telangana after a long-fought battle, the people are now up against a challenge – protecting their self-respect, KCR said, referring to the Congress’ poll pact with the TDP. “It’s awful to see the Congress leaders hobnobbing with Chandrababu Naidu,” he said.
He sought the people’s support to send the TDP candidate packing from Warangal West Constituency. He questioned how would TDP which is trying to stall irrigation projects in Telangana seek votes in the region.
Telangana is witnessing a huge economic growth – around revenue of Rs 12,000 crore per annum, he said, appealing to people to support the TRS. He accused the Congress of filing many a case to stall the irrigation projects in Telangana. He highlighted the schemes of is party, including Rythu Bandhu, investment support scheme for farmers, Kalyana Lakshmi etc.
He appealed to give a huge majority to D Vinay Bhaskar (Warabgal West), Nannapuneni Narender (Warangal East) and Aroori Ramesh (Wardhannapet) so that to uphold the self-respect of the Telangana.
Elsewhere addressing a public meeting in Station Ghanpur, he promised to construct a 100-bedded hospital and to establish a mega leather park to generate employment opportunities in the region.
“Even though Jangaon is a drought-prone district, it will be turned green in the next couple of years with the completion of Devadula Lift that is slated to bring 100 tmc ft of waters. The Malkapur-Lingampally reservoir will change the face of the agriculture,” he said.
Earlier in Parkal, he assured all possible help to the farmers for their upliftment. In a veiled attack against, he criticised Konda couple that gone are the days of rowdies ruling the roost.
