Sarve way ahead of his rivals

Update: 2018-11-29 05:30 IST

Secunderabad: Sarve Satyanarayana, the People’s Front candidate from Congress party, intensified his campaign and toured the constituency extensively and held door-to-door meetings at several colonies on Wednesday. Speaking during the campaign, he assured the locals of taking necessary measures to address drinking water issues in the constituency. He said that he would ensure that GHMC supplies drinking water regularly in the cantonment areas. Water tap connections would be given to each house with a fee of Rs 100. He also promised to take necessary measures to find permanent solution for flooding of low-lying colonies. Walls would be built on both sides of sewerage lines to prevent inundation, he said.

Using his past connections with military authorities as a former union minister, the Congress candidate said he would strive for coordination between the state government and Cantonment authorities. Sarve said that he has convinced all the rebel candidates and all the leaders of People Front parties to extend their support to him and ensure his victory in the ensuing elections.  While there is a strong contest between TRS and People Front, Sarve seems to be ahead of other parties as the former vice presidents of the Board and Board members were striving for his victory.

Jampana Pratap, the former vice president of Cantonment Board is playing a key role in the campaign. Being an experienced politician with good relationship with people of constituency, Pratap may influence the mandate in favor of Sarve. Apart from Pratap, other former vice president of the Board Gauri Shankar, K Janaradhan Reddy, Banuka Narmada, and Jaiprakash have extended their support and were participating in the election campaign. Former Board members Madhukar and Ananth Reddy were also working for the victory of the Congress candidate.  On the other side, TRS candidate Sayanna is supported by most of the cantonment board members. Both the parties have exuded confidence on their victories and it is interesting to see who wins this prestigious seat.
