239 polling booths set up for Kothagudem

Kothagudem: Election observer Jagadish Singh on Thursday held a meeting with all representatives of all parties at the Revenue Divisional Office and discussed the preparations for the polling etc.

Addressing the meeting, he explained the details of the Kothagudem consistency in details.  He said there are 17 candidates in the fray from the constituency.  With Nota, the total has gone up to eighteen. 

He further added that two ballot units are preparing for the elections. As many as 239 polling centres are set up for the elections, he said.  The town auxiliary polling stations are also there. The passes are being issued to contesting candidates and polling agents, he said.  

The observer said that the electoral officers are playing a key role in the elections as each electoral officer has the responsibility of 12 to 14 polling booths in the consistency. 

Returning officer SwarnaLatha, DRDA APD Vijay Chandra, tahasildar Srinivas Rao and public representatives of the various parties attended the meeting.
