Hyderabad: Recalling that the Congress party in Andhra Pradesh alleged that Chandrababu Naidu was ‘invalid rupee,’ caretaker Minister T Harish Rao on Thursday asked the Congress party president Rahul Gandhi how the TDP leader would become valid rupee in Telangana.

Addressing a press conference here, Harish Rao recalled that during June, the Congress party led by APCC president N Raghuveera Reddy printed a booklet stating that the TDP president did not fulfil the poll promises. “If Chandrababu Naidu is invalid rupee in Andhra Pradesh, how can he be a valid rupee in Telangana,” asked Harish Rao. The Congress party in Andhra Pradesh released a charge sheet against Chandrababu Naidu for not fulfilling the promises made in his manifesto, he recalled.

Taking exception to the alliance of the TDP with the Congress, Harish Rao said, “Chandrababu is calling the alliance with Congress a historical need. Naidu said the same thing after having an alliance with the BJP. It is not historical need for the people but his own needs,” Harish Rao said.

Harish Rao also lashed out against the Mahakutami and called it ‘Daga Kutami.’ He took strong exception to the comments by TJS president M Kodandaram that caretaker Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao was an injured batsman. Harish Rao said that people would know who the injured batsman is on December 11 when Chandrashekar Rao would hit sixes.

Harish Rao criticised the Congress party for using the picture of Sagaraharam in its manifesto. Rao said that black and white picture of Sagarharam was printed in the manifesto of the Congress party only because it had all pink flags. He said that the Congress had no right to use the Sagaraharam picture because the Congress government then did not give permission for the meeting and the TRS got permission by fighting and through court.

The TRS leader alleged that Congress did not implement single promise made during the 2004 and 2009 elections. He said that during 2009 elections, the Congress gave nine assurances but did not implement single promise. Even the TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu did not implement single promise in Andhra Pradesh.

“Chandrababu says Godavari water should be used by two States. If so, are his intentions, why did he write to the Centre against the Kaleshwaram project,” asked Rao. Referring to Naidu’s statement that he gave political birth to Chandrashekar Rao, Harish Rao said that Congress party gave political birth to Chandrababu Naidu and N T Rama Rao gave him rebirth. Rao said, “Balladeer Gaddar, who shows bullets in his body also hugged Chandrababu Naidu and lost the respect of the people in Telangana.”
