Hyderabad: Transgender candidate M Chandramukhi who went missing on Tuesday was traced by the police on Wednesday late night. Task Force sleuths brought her to Banjara Hills police station and produced her before the court on Thursday morning.

Based on a habeas corpus writ petition filed by her mother M Ananthamma, the Hyderabad High Court on Wednesday directed the police to trace her. She is contesting the Goshamahal Assembly Constituency on a Bahujan Left Front ticket against BJP candidate Raja Singh and Praja Front candidate Mukesh Goud.

In her petition, Ananthamma alleged that one of the rowdy sheeters in the area threatened Chandramukhi to withdraw from the contest and she suspected that local rowdy sheeters might have kidnapped her daughter. On the direction of the court, police formed 10 teams and the Task Force teams traced her with the help of CCTV footage verification.
