Telangana Elections 2018: Ramulamma boosts Congress cadre morale

Tandur: Congress leaders were delighted with the party star campaigner Vijayshanthi’s speech at a public meeting here on Wednesday. According to the party candidate Rohit Reddy, when she addressed the women audience as ‘‘my dear sisters,’’ they were spell-bounded.  She criticised that TRS chief K Chandrashekar Rao called for pre-polls to make his son K T Rama Rao the Telangana CM. She appealed to them to vote for People’s Front candidates in the elections. 

Congress leaders said that they expected 5,000 people’s turnout but the number crossed 20,000. As the people from Peddamul, Tandur, Basheerabad and Yalal thronged the meeting venue, the police were hard put to control the crowds, they said. When Vijayashanthi started her speech the women rushed to the stage. Party leaders were of the view that her presence would attract more people in the future meetings.
