Nandamuri TDP turned into Naravari TDP: Kishan Reddy

Hyderabad: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) former MLA G Kishan Reddy alleged that “Nandamuri TDP turned into Naravari TDP” to join the league of family-ruled-parties along with the Congress and the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS).

Addressing meet the press programme, organised by the Indian Federation of Working Journalists (IFWJ) and Hyderabad Union of Working Journalists (HUWJ) here on Friday, he said that except the BJP all other parties have been running dynasty politics. “Against the aspiration of the people who fought for the separate Telangana movement, now, family-ruled parties are trying to capture power in the State,” he added. The former MLA said that the BJP is going to people seeking votes for bringing change in the State, as the TRS has failed to deliver on its electoral promises.

People know the performance of the BJP government at the Centre which is taking forward development and welfare together, he added. People of the State have witnessed the governments of all other parties except the BJP. Hence, we are asking them to give us an opportunity, he said.

The BJP leader said that the party is not able to equal to other parties in using unacceptable language against its opponents, lack of support from media to relay the party views and stand on various issues are acting as minus points for the party. Also, the apprehensions about the TRS-BJP reaching a secret understanding was an outcome of earlier TRS praising the decision of the BJP government at the Centre. He clarified that the BJP cannot enter into any sort of understanding with the TRS as far as it has tie-up with AIMIM, he said.

Highlight the party giving due importance to the women candidates’ vis-a-vis other parties, Kishan Reddy said, “It is well reflected in the party, fielding a woman candidate against TRS chief K Chandrashekar Rao.” Responding to a question, he said those who worked along with him in the party in other States have become Chief Ministers. Dismissing the election survey of former Congress MP Lagadapati Rajagopal, the BJP leader said that no one takes his surveys seriously and pointed out that both the TRS and the TDP have lost the people's trust in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, respectively. 

Commenting on KCR insisting on the importance of a non-BJP and non-Congress federal front at the Centre, he said the federal front of KCR has remained only in the Pragati Bhavan. He said that the party is prepared to participate in a public discussion on the issue of the state of farmers in Telangana. And, said, those who could not win are complaining about the malfunctioning of the EVM machines and the party has no reservations about their functioning in the elections, he said.
