Kanti Velugu centre at Cherlapally prison

Kapra: GHMC Circle officials inaugurated ‘Kanti Velugu’ centre at Cherlapally Central Prison on Monday. Prison Deputy Superintendent Sammayya said that the centre would run for 10 days. He asked every inmate to utilise the ‘Kanti Velugu’ programme. 

Dr Durga Bhavani said that they would diagnose eye problems and provide proper treatment. Surgeries would also be performed if required, she said. Later, spectacles handed over to the needy. Superintendent MR Bhaskar, jailors Devla Naik, Shobhan Babu, Ratnam, Hanuman Prasad, GHMC organisers Pushpalatha and Sridevi were present.
