Kishan presents 5-yr report card
Amberpet: Following the footsteps of UP Governor Ram Naik and the BJP MP from Mumbai, Kirit Somaiyya who have been presenting report cards of their own work, three-time MLA from the Amberpet constituency and the floor leader of the BJP in the Telangana Assembly presented an immaculately prepared PPT in front of a jam-packed audience comprising Amberpet constituents. He has been presenting the report card after completing his MLA term for years – 2009, 2014 and 2018.
Highlighting his work across the constituency in the past five years, speeches and issues picked up inside the legislative assembly to cleanliness drives to women centric initiatives, Reddy presented his report card with confidence to an audience. It may be noted that Kishan Reddy was adjudged the top performing MLA in the MLA performance survey organised by caretaking Chief Minister, K Chandrasekhar Rao. Even with BJP being in a minority position in the State with just five elected MLAs, Kishan Reddy went about with development activities in his constituency. An 80-page booklet including testimonials from constituents and photographs from the field, discussed various themes of development related activities which were undertaken.
The same information was condensed into a PPT where he touched upon achievements including the installation of 77 CCTVs, development of government schools, installation of electric sub-stations worth Rs 200 crore and development of parks, libraries and 67 new community halls. The Toilet Cleaning Vehicle that operates in his constituency was the highlight of the discussions. The vehicle regularly cleans school toilets in government schools of Amberpet, keeping true to the focus on the Central government’s Swachh Bharat Abhiyan. A lot of the work reported by Kishan Reddy focused on women empowerment through the provision of skill training and support extended to development of SHGs. Apart from this, he has also organised youth camps for career counselling and skill training.
