APCC chief slams tardy pace of growth in TS

Hyderabad: Former Minister and Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) president N Raghuveera Reddy, along with former minister Kanumuri Bapi Raju and All India Mahila Congress general secretary Shameena Shafiq, campaigned in support of Khairatabad Praja Kutami contestant Dr Sravan Dasoju at NBT Nagar of Banjara Hills on Tuesday.

Addressing the meeting, the APCC chief held that it was only a geographical division and it cannot divide Telugu-speaking people who would always remain united. 

He reminded that it was Congress party chairperson Sonia Gandhi who granted Telangana statehood keeping in view the four-and-half crore people’s aspirations and sacrifices of thousands of activists. 

Sonia Gandhi believed that both AP and Telangana would be developed but TRS chief K Chandra Sekhar Rao (KCR) has made Telangana a debt-ridden state. 

Reddy expressed that Praja Kutami would be forming the government both at State and Centre. Speaking to media persons, Raghuveera reminded people about Sravan’s contribution in the Statehood movement and his services to the party in the most need-of-the-hour. 

He appealed people to elect an honest, educated visionary person like Sravan as Khairatabad MLA. The APCC chief said that illegal arrest of Revanth Reddy reflects the fear of defeat in KCR. 

He reminded the U turn of KCR and Kavitha for withdrawing their support to AP Special Status and slammed KCR for his opportunist politics. Meanwhile, Sravan participated in door-to-door campaign at NBT Nagar along with APCC Chief and senior leaders. 

Sravan paid his tributes to former minister, people’s leader PJR and pledged to work for the welfare of poor and downtrodden sections of society. He alleged that BJP and TRS were influencing voters with freebies. 

He cautioned people to be wary of gimmicks played by Chintala and Danam. He also alleged that even after reporting BJP candidate Chintala Ramchandra Reddy’s gift coupons distribution, no measures were taken by the concerned authorities.

Speaking to media persons, Dr Sravan has condemned the illegal arrest of TPCC working president Revanth Reddy and warned the caretaker government to behave constitutionally. 

Sravan expressed his serious concern about free and fair elections. He slammed EC for their spectatorship and demanded for its immediate intervention in the matter to uphold the democracy and constitution.
