Curb use of alcohol, MP Konda Vishweshwar Reddy urges CEO

Chevella: MP Konda Vishweshwar Reddy wrote a letter to the Chief Electoral Officer of Telangana,Dr Rajat Kumar,requesting him to restrict the use of alcohol and to consider using of breath analyzers at the polling booths, at the least in Tandur assembly constituency.

“I have noticed unprecedented use of money and alcohol across Chevella Lok Sabha constituency during my field visits. Drunk and drive might hurt individuals, but supplying alcohol before and during polls will hurt the democratic values at its core. Hence, we have to restrict the use of alcohol as tool for winning the elections,” the MP wrote in his letter on Saturday. 

Vishweshwar Reddy also stated in the letter that he appreciates the efforts of the Election Commission and strongly believes that the commission will uphold the integrity of elections by creating a democratic environment.
