People sensitised on importance of vote
Nizamabad: Ennikala Nigha Vedika (ENV) district convener Dr B Keshavulu appealed to the people to vote for educated and honest candidates instead of rich and strong candidates in the December 7 elections. He spoke at an awareness programme on ‘Tomorrow’s elections – youth votes’ at the ENV office at Khaleelwadi here on Wednesday.
“India got independence after the sacrifices of hundreds of people and since then governments for the States were being elected in a democratic way. Hence the people must use their vote in a right way without taking caste, religion, regions in the elections to protect democracy,” he explained.
He told the people if they sell their votes for cash or liquor which will spoil the future of their children. Already liquor, cash and biryanis were being distributed in almost all the villages, which is degrading, he stated. Dr Keshavulu said it is the duty and responsibility of every citizen to cast their vote to the right candidate.
They should compulsorily cast their vote without fail. He asked specially youth not to become vulnerable to money or liquor. ENV members Kavya, Akula Phanibushan and others were present.
