TRS will not need our support, it will win comfortably: Asaduddin Owaisi
Hyderabad: All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) president Asaduddin Owaisi on Wednesday stated that Telangana Rashtra Samithi would be forming the government with sufficient majority, and added that his party would not be joining the TRS government.
Speaking at Meet the Press programme here, the MIM president said that there would not be any need of MIM as the TRS would be getting comfortable majority to form the government. On the rumours that the MIM would be part of the government, Owaisi said, “No, we will not join the government. I am pretty much sure that the people of Telangana will bless K Chandrashekar Rao again. He will form the government. We will not join the government.”
Responding to questions, the senior Owaisi alleged that both BJP president Amit Shah and Congress president Rahul Gandhi wants to stop his party in the elections. “All the parties including BJP and Congress are working together against me. I am a citizen of India by birth and by choice. We have rejected the philosophy of Jinnah,” reiterated Owaisi.
The MIM chief said his party would not only retain the seven seats, but also win the Rajendranagar constituency. Replying a question on long-term consequences of tie up with TRS, the senior Owaisi said that time would tell that.
Owaisi criticised Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath for coming to Telangana for election campaign at a time when there was tension in Bulandshahr in Uttar Pradesh. “Anyone is free in a democracy to conduct election campaign, Adityanath coming to Telangana for canvassing at a time when UP is burning shows his callousness,” said Owaisi.
On Raja Singh, Owaisi said, “The BJP candidate in Goshamahal talks of beheading me... I don’t use security... I roam around on my motorcycle during evening time.... come and kill me and later offer two flowers on my grave,” said Owaisi. He said that the people should reject this type of unparliamentary language.
