Quthbullapur: About 3,000 votes in booth no 301 to 306 of Adarshnagar in this constituency were missing, local residents complained on Friday. Speaking to The Hans India they found fault with the verification system. They said the Election Commission should take the blame. The residents also alleged that the voter’s list was full of mistakes. They suspect that about 50 per cent of votes of 516,180 spread over 457 booths were missing. They feel that only three lakh votes have been polled in this constituency.

A resident, Uttam Kumar, grumbled whether they were living in Pakistan, questioning why the villagers’ names had been deleted. Eswar Rao’s family had four votes. They were listed in separate booths, while Nagesh had two votes (which he showed to THI). Some more persons too had two votes each, while those of many others were found missing. An 86-year-old woman who came to CMR School went back disappointed and angry that her name has been deleted from the list. Physically challenged and elderly persons experienced hardships to vote as wheel chairs were found lacking in some polling centres. When a person without two legs was going to a booth, the police and the election duty staff were found looking on helplessly.

In many areas queues of voters were found holding voter cards. As they did not either receive voter slips or their votes were missing, they went back in despair while highlighting the failure of polling officials. They questioned as to why there were announcements to vote in media publications and television. In Sambipur village MLC Sambipur Raju, Sambipur Krishna, along with local residents, stood in a queue to vote. Seeing them, villagers expressed happiness that the MLC had spent time with them. TRS candidate K P Vivekanand, along with his family members, voted in Satgyan High School. The family member included uncle K M Pratap, aunt and corporator Padma Pratap Goud, brother Vishal Goud. Addressing the media, he expressed confidence of sailing through, thanks to the welfare schemes taken up by the TRS government.

People’s Front nominee Kuna Srisailam Goud voted at the mandal parishad school in his native village of Gajularamaram. He greeted with a smile the voters standing in queue. Goud told the media that the smiles of voters indicate that PF would emerge victorious in the polls and its government would be formed after December 11, when the assembly election results are declared.
