UP Babu to render ghazals tomorrow

Hyderabad: The IAS officer, Dr Hari Om, who is also known as ‘ghazal singer’ across the north India will be performing in Potti Sreeramulu Telugu University on Wednesday. Hari Om, Secretary (Admin) Government of Uttar Pradesh, who is a singer, poet, writer has earlier, rendered his first ever album of Faiz Ahmed Faiz poetry in his voice. “Irrespective of cast and creed, Urdu poetry binds people and unites their cultures. Many Muslim singers have rendered bhajans in their voices and many non-Muslim singers have rendered Sufi songs in their voices,” he said.

Om who was on a short visit to Hyderabad on Monday, also recited a few couplets of his own poetry along with the verses of eminent poet Faiz Ahmed Faiz. “Urdu poetry weaves hearts together in India. Urdu is the language of love and unity”, said the officer. He is scheduled to perform on Wednesday from 7 pm. Secretary of Federation for Global Cultural Forum Tariq Faizi also spoke on the occasion. While Media Plus Managing Partner Dr Syed Fazil Hussain Parvez welcomed the guests, CEO Syed Khaled Shahbaaz presented a short video presentation on Dr Hari Om.
