Colonies internal roads in a very bad state
Kapra: Internal roads of various colonies and bastis are in a bad condition under GHMC Kapra circle. Local people allege that officials who are focussing on main roads are least bothered about the repairs of internal roads. Though the GHMC has been spending crores of rupees for the development of the roads, nothing has happened to the roads in the colonies and bastis.
The roads in Kapra, Sairam Nagar, Saibaba Nagar, AS Rao Nagar, Jammigadda, Cherlapally, Mallapur divisions are damaged and the gravel loosened from the roads. Commuters experience hardships in crossing these internal roads. Local residents allege that officials have left it to contractors to lay BT and CC roads. Quality control checks are not being checked, they lamented. As a result, the roads turned to worse condition and cracks have developed in them at several places. The roads stand as a witness to the negligence of the officials.
Meanwhile, some of the colonies and bastis are put to severe hardships, having to use to kachha roads. During the rainy season, they turn muddy and the residents feel it difficult to move about their daily activities. On the other side, the roads are damaged due to continuous digging by various departments such as HMWSSB, BSNL for underground drainage, cable lines and tap water connections. No coordination of any sort seems to be among them. The residents of colonies and bastis are keeping high hopes on the new MLA-elect Bethi Subhash Reddy.
