It’s season of weddings
Hyderabad: There is a saying that marriages are made in heaven but celebrated on earth. The greater Hyderabad people are on toes to perform marriages before the end of auspicious day’s i.e., 14, 15, 21, 27 and 30 of the month. Purohit Pradeep Sharma said an auspicious Telugu month Margasira is said to be good for marriages, because of which most of the parents prefer their children get married. He said this is the season when “we perform two to three marriages in a day when compared to other seasons, when we are almost free for days at a stretch.” When contacted, Sama Narasimha Reddy function hall (Champapet) management, they said on an average there are two to three marriages are going to be happen in the function hall till December 30.
Bobbili Damodhar Reddy Gardens management said they are not accepting any new bookings at this stage as bookings were closed in November itself. As all the auspicious days’ falls in the month made us work tirelessly, say caterers. A catering services provider said they have been facing tough time to provide catering services as their manpower is less. Photographers, beauticians, decorators, catering services and others will have good business during the season. Zubier, photographer, said that he and his team members are covering two to three functions in a day. Beauticians are in high demand in this season as they charge more than Rs 10,000 for one wedding.
Decoration providers said that they ensure all the flowers are fresh as they import few flower varieties from other states to make the venue look rich. Speaking to the Hans India, Pandit Murali Sharma said that as the month is auspicious for marriages, he is performing more than two functions in a day. He said he is going to perform 20 to 25 functions in the month. Sharma said they will be busy in December, February, March and April. Sanjana, a house wife, said they are roaming around function halls to attend marriages across the city and added that she has to attend three marriages on Saturday, one in Champapet, the other in Ameerpet and Kukatpally. According to reports, more than 1 lakh marriages are planned for these days across the state.
