KTR takes reins of TRS; vows to make it invincible force
Hyderabad: Taking charge as the working president of Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS), K T Rama Rao on Monday said that he would strive to make TRS an undefeatable force for the next 100 years. The TRS leaders took out rally in support of their new working president while he was taking charge at Telangana Bhavan.
Rama Rao took charge as the party’s working president amidst the sermons by Veda pandits at Telangana Bhavan. Before that Rama Rao came to Bhavan in an open top vehicle in the form of a rally from Basavatarakam cancer hospital to Telangana Bhavan. Former Ministers T Padma Rao Goud, T Srinivas Yadav, P Mahender Reddy, MLA E Dayakar Rao and others accompanied him. Rao garlanded the statues of Telangana Talli at Bhavan and Telangana ideologue Prof Jayashankar’s inside the Bhavan.
After taking charge, Rama Rao came out and addressed a huge crowd gathered outside the Bhavan. Rama Rao said that he would make TRS an undefeatable force for the next 100 years. Thanking Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao for entrusting the responsibility on him, Rao said that he would be a bridge between the people and party. “The party would be indebted to people of the State, who gave a thumping majority to the TRS. People have blessed KCR, who is taking the State towards the path of Bangaru Telangana. Since, KCR would have to dedicate most of his time to government, he has given me the responsibility of the working president. I will strive and live up to the responsibility. TRS is ‘Tiruguleni Rajakiya Shakti,” said Rao.
Rama Rao said that he would work as one of the workers of the party and strive to strengthen the party organisationally. Expressing regrets for not meeting everyone among the crowd, Rao also assured to allocate more time for the party workers in the coming days. TRS activists danced to popular folk songs near Telangana Bhavan.
While Rao was taking charge, several leaders were also present to congratulate their new working president. The leaders who were present include former Ministers T Harish Rao, T Nageswara Rao, C Laxma Reddy, Danam Nagender, Mayor B Rammohan and others.
As a first step, Rama Rao would be touring districts and as part of this, he would be touring Warangal district on December 20. The Warangal district leaders led by former Minister Kadiyam Srihari met here. The leaders said that Rao would be visiting Warangal Urban, Rural and Jangaon districts and talking to the party activists on strengthening the party and giving instructions for coming Panchayat elections. The TRS leaders are planning for big celebrations during the visit of Rama Rao by organising rallies.
