Kukatpally: The face of police stations has changed in the city under the TRS government. Many stations now have new buildings in Hyderabad, and soon Kukatpally Traffic Police Station will also get corporate look. Construction of a new building is underway for the police station. The new building is located on Kukatpally Main Road near Metro store, and it is being given the final touches. After installing the infrastructure, the police station will get ready to function. The old police station has been operating in only two rooms since a decade.
The new building is constructed in about 14,000 square feet land. The G+1 structure has a large space to work peacefully with all the required facilities. Separate cabins were made for ACP, SHO and Sub inspectors, and the station also equipped with a conference room. The police station will be equipped with high technology to curb violations. A huge monitoring panel including projector system will be installed to keep an eye on traffic violators.
The constables said that it was difficult to work at the old station on rainy days. The surroundings get flooded, and it will be extremely challenging to work, they said. A police official who had served at the police station said that even a light shower would lead to flooding of the premises. The new building being constructed by the Telangana State Police Housing Corporation Limited at a cost of Rs. 2 crore has a stilt car parking. An engineer from TSHCL said the new building had been constructed with modern amenities. A ramp is constructed for the physically-challenged people.
