Bathukamma sarees to be distributed from today
Sircilla: District Collector Venkatram Reddy here on Tuesday directed the officials concerned to distribute Bhatukamma sarees to all eligible women. The Collector was holding a review meeting with officials and others here.
Speaking on the occasion, the District Collector said a total of 1.98 lakh of Bhatukamma sarees will be distributed across the district out of which around 30,000 sarees will be distributed under Siricilla Municipality limits from December 19.
He directed the Municipal officials to coordinate with The Municipal officials in coordination with the MEPMA resource persons to ensure distribution of sarees without giving scope for irregularities.
He asked the officials to distribute sarees in government offices and community halls to suit the convenience of people. TESCOB Chairman Konduri Ravinder Rao said Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao introduced the scheme to enable the people the celebrate festival in a grand manner.
Municipal Chairperson Samala Pavani, SES chairman T Kanakaiah, Commissioner Ramana Chary and councillors were present along with fair price shop dealers, MEPMA resource persons, Municipal officials and staff members.
