TSCHE, OU and ICA to host All India Commerce Conference
Hyderabad: Telangana State Council of Higher Education (TSCHE), Osmania University (OU) and Indian Commerce Association (ICA) to host the 71st All India Commerce Conference from December 20-22. Addressing a joint press conference here on Tuesday, TSCHE Vice-Chairman Prof V Venkata Ramana, ICA Secretary Prof Narender Kumar, Conference Secretary Prof H Venkateswarlu and former ICA Secretary General Ravinder Vinayak said the three-day event will be taking place at OU for the fourth time since 1955. Established in 1947, the ICA has been focusing on improving the standards of commerce and management education in the country, besides the research and development.
Prof Venkata Ramana said that the TSCHE is associated with the event as the objectives of the conference are very much in line with several of the focused areas of the State government, to make the State a knowledge hub. The event will be inaugurated by State Chief Secretary S K Joshi, ICA President Prof Subash Garg, Special Chief Secretary Education Ajay Mishra, P R Ramesh, Chairman Deloitte Haskins and Sells LLP, Prof S Ramachandram, Vice Chancellor, OU and Prof R K Mishra Director- IPE will attend the inauguration of the event.
Prof Vinayak said that about 1,800 delegates will be attended the conference from 28 States of the country. And, the conference had received 1,250 research papers by the faculty members and scholars. Besides, the two Telugu States, nearly 300 delegates from Maharashtra, 200 from Uttar Pradesh, 100 from Rajasthan, 140 from Karnataka and 150 delegates from Bihar will be attending the conference, he said. ICA Secretary Narendra Kumar said the conference will have six focused areas.
They include Innovation, Entrepreneurship and Sustainable Development, Banking and Insurance: Contemporary issues and challenges, Digital Marketing: Opportunities and implications, Corporate Social Responsibility: Policies and Practices, Emerging Dimensions in Accounting. Also, a key area in which scholars are encouraged to present on “Empirical Researches in the field of Human Resources Development,” he said.
One of the five best papers on each of these focused areas will be awarded a gold medal, and remaining with silver medals. That apart, the Professor Samiuddin Memorial ICA Research Scholars’ Award will also be presented during the event. He said that the ICA as part of promoting high quality and research in commerce and management is also awarding Prof MM Shah Memorial Award of Rs 2 lakh cash prize to outstanding research in the field of commerce and business management.
The Sourabh Shiware Memorial Young Research Award of Rs 25,000 is aimed to encourage research scholars in the country in commerce and management. Also, the ICA awarding annually MMSR Award, BBAY Award, All India commerce and Management Talent Search Examination (AICMTSE) cash awards, he said. The ICA is also planning to become the accreditation body for all commerce and management academic institutions, he said.
