Modi govt put a spoke in wheel of TS growth: TRS

New Delhi: Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) Parliamentary party lashed out at the Modi government for becoming a hurdle in the development of Telangana and the nation. Speaking to media here on Wednesday, TRSPP leader Jitender Reddy and MPs Vinod Kumar and K Kavitha said that the functioning of the Parliament was a telling statement on the goings in the country. The session was being washed out and there was no chance to discuss any issue that would benefit any State in the country. Except Telangana, all other States were getting stunted in their growth and the Centre was responsible for the same.

They said while every State was given a national project, Prime Minister Narendra Modi was refusing to recognise Kaleswaram Project as a national project despite promising to announce it so. Similarly, clearances for Sitarama Project were being delayed on the pretext of it being a new project, whereas it was an ongoing project. It was also highly regretful that the bifurcation of the High Court had not taken place so far because the TDP continued to be an ally of the BJP despite its pretensions otherwise.

Referring to the fund flow to the State, there was very little that the Centre was doing in this regard as the Prime Minister was unwilling to do the needful. Even those funds promised by Niti Aayog to Mission Bhagiratha and Mission Kakatiya were being deprived. Similarly, the demand made by Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao to constitute a OBC Ministry was also ignored.

They also hit out at Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, former MP Lagadapati Rajagopal Rao and yellow media for their devilish embellishments in their campaign against K Chandrashekar Rao, Telangana and its people.

On the Congress rout in Telangana, they said, “it deserved it as its leaders had become litigants to stall Telangana development. On his part, Naidu had joined hands with the Congress only because K Chandrashekar Rao rejected his overtures. The Congress would be wrong to presume that it lost out only because of Naidu. The main Opposition was routed because of the good work of K Chandrashekar Rao.”
